Multi-Drop Parcel Delivery Driver
Giant Freight is looking for a self-employed Multi-Drop Parcel Delivery Driver to sub-contract out of Plymouth, Devon. Monday to Friday, 07:30–17:30, covering Devon and Cornwall. Rate is £120.00–£220.00 per day, averaging around 45 hours per week. No nights out required. Immediate start available.
The role
We are looking for an energetic and reliable multi-drop driver to join our parcel delivery team on a self-employed sub-contract basis. You will be out on the road in one of our 3.5-tonne vans, delivering parcels to homes and businesses across Devon and Cornwall with typically 50–100 drops per day.
What you will be doing
- Drive a 3.5t panel or Luton van on a busy multi-drop route
- Complete between 50 and 100 residential and business deliveries per day
- Scan every parcel on delivery using our handheld device
- Capture customer signature or proof of delivery photo
- Handle undeliverable parcels, redeliveries and driver returns per company procedure
- Communicate regularly with the transport office about route progress
- Keep the van clean, organised and fit for daily inspection

What we need from you
- Registered as a sole trader, CIS or limited company and responsible for your own Income Tax and National Insurance / Corporation Tax
- UK UTR (sole trader) or company registration number (Ltd), plus business bank account for self-billed payments
- Own public liability and goods-in-transit insurance, or willing to arrange before start
- Full UK Category B driving licence (held 2+ years preferred)
- No more than 6 points (no DR, IN, DD endorsements)
- Comfortable with high-volume multi-drop work
- Physically fit — lots of in-and-out of the van, lifting up to 25kg
- Good navigation and time management
- Polite, customer-facing manner — you represent Giant Freight at every doorstep
- Right to work in the UK
Working relationship — important
This position is offered on a self-employed, sub-contract basis. You must be a registered sole trader, CIS-registered worker or limited company, and be fully responsible for your own Income Tax, National Insurance (or Corporation Tax), VAT where applicable, and any expenses. This engagement does not form an employment or worker contract under the Employment Rights Act 1996, and does not carry employee benefits such as paid holiday, sick pay or a workplace pension. You retain a genuine right of substitution — you may send a suitably qualified and insured replacement driver, subject to our reasonable vetting, if you cannot cover a run personally.
